Bambi Foundation Albania is a registered dog rescue nonprofit in Tirana focused on rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming abandoned dogs in Albania and across Europe.

Who We Are

Bambi Foundation Albania is a registered nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing and rehoming abandoned dogs across Albania. Founded in 2023, we've grown from a small group of passionate volunteers to a recognized force for animal welfare.

Every day in Albania, countless dogs face abandonment, hunger, abuse, and death on the streets. We exist to give them a second chance — a chance to know love, safety, and the warmth of a forever home.

How It All Began

Bambi Foundation was born from heartbreak and hope. Our founder, Ana, encountered a severely injured dog on the streets of Tirana. The dog, later named Bambi, had been hit by a car and left to die.

That night changed everything.

Ana rushed Bambi to a vet, paid for emergency surgery, and nursed him back to health. But she couldn't stop thinking: "How many more are out there? How many don't get a second chance?"

What started as one rescue became two, then ten, then dozens. With the help of dedicated volunteers, generous donors, and brave flight volunteers, Bambi Foundation was officially established.

Today, Bambi (the dog who started it all) lives happily in Germany. But his legacy lives on through every life we save.
